Ginger Street Glasses Light

George & I stopped in at Ginger Street today.  We found a small lamp that can be attached to a pair of glasses, so you can read at night.  It's great for a Kindle Paperwhite - which isn't back lit, or reading a book, newspaper, etc.  I bought one for $5.00 to send to my daughter.

What an amazing little item.  It's light weight and easy to use.  It twists to turn on & off.  The lamp can be adjusted to go up and down, too.

Great little item, if you want to read at night and not bother people around you......

It's worth making a special trip to shop at Ginger Street.  Laura has a wonderful selection of items.  Her summer and Halloween items are 50% off right now.

She ordered "Magic Soap" for Christmas.  It just came in & she's getting ready to put it out on the floor.  Magic Soap is a stainless steel orb that you wash with when you're cooking with fish, onions or garlic to get rid of the odor.  It works like magic and sells out fast.   "Magic Soap" is a great gift to put into Christmas stockings.

Rainier Market update:  – Sarb is going to reopen and has started  work this week on cleaning up after the fire.

We received the following email from Marian:

"George, thanks for keeping us up to date on Rainier happenings.  I wonder if you might put out a notice about the Pizza place in Rainier.   They have been affected by the fire at the market, they re unable to serve some of the items on their menu.  We stopped there this weekend and learned that this is hurting their business.  They would appreciate customers to support them through this."  Marian

Rainier Community Cares - has been working on a community web site and hopping to have it up and running sometime in November. It will be  a true community website not only listing what is happening but will include links to businesses , clubs, local sales, churches and the opportunity to for everyone to post yard sales etc, and maybe even a place for local events of interest.

Thanks
George

Rainier Round-Up Days Parade Videos

For a real, good "hometown" feel, come to Rainier.  We're a small community.  Our downtown area is small, but we have the best homemade cookies in the state - freshly baked at "Main Street Cookies" right in downtown Rainier!  Across the street - you can shop at "Ginger Street" for great gifts and collectibles.

Almost 50 groups participated in the Rainier Round-Up Days Parade.  The parade goes along Highway 507 for about 1/2 a mile.  It's perfect!  Almost everyone in town is either in the parade, or they're watching the parade from the sidewalks.

For an honest mechanic, check out Turner Automotive - in the gray building in the parade videos.  You'll be pleasantly surprised!

You can see our downtown area in Wally Brown's parade videos below:

Rainier Woman in Business: Laura Cattuti

We are proud to share this clip from the "Women in Business 2013" section of the Nisqually Valley News about our own Laura Cattuti of Ginger Street.   If you haven't been in to visit Laura and Joe, you've got to rush down there.  They have a wonderful, eclectic collection of items.

George and I visit regularly.  We purchased our favorite gardening tool from Laura.  It's a Japanese hand hoe.  When I found she had more of them in, I ran down and picked up another one!  These gardening tools work miracles!  You've got to try one!

Christmas Caroling for Cans

The Rainier lions Club will be “Caroling for Cans” this Friday night in Rainier collecting cans of food for the Rainier Food Bank so that we can all help feed those less fortunate than ourselves.

We will be carrying on the long standing tradition of Christmas carolers. Why do Christmas carolers travel in groups going from house to house singing and celebrating the season today?  It is believed that Christmas caroling developed in or around the 15th century with those too poor “singing for their supper,” going from door-to-door until they had enough food to sustain themselves.

The Rainier Lions Club will beasking for food for our area's hungry and homeless from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. We will meet and start at the Rainier Chapel at 6 P.M. this Friday evening, December 14, 2012.  Anyone interested in  participating is welcome to join us. The more the merrier.  It was great fun last year.

Unfortunately we can’t reach every single home, but you may also drop off canned & non-perishable food at Main Street Cookie Store or Ginger Street store in Downtown Rainier.

If you have any questions, please call George at:  (360) 292-5363 or Evan at:  (360) 280-0305
