Rainier Lions Club activities and SERVICE projects July - Dec 2016

Rainier Lions Club activities and SERVICE projects 

for 1st half of Lions year July - Dec. 2016.

 

July 3rd week - Capital Lake Fair Lions Burger Den, provide person power to cooking and serve..

August- 2nd week. Peaches Pears and Nectarines (PPNs project) fruit arrives Sat. August 13th
        8 AM at Rainier Chapel. 815 boxes for 2016 and every group that sells gets $5./ box.
        for their community SERVICE Projects. Any non-profit is invited to participate.
      - Rainier Round UP Days parade float and Bluegrass in Wilkowski Park 4th Friday & Sat.
      - Burger Den with breakfast, lunch & dinner for bluegrass musicians and visitors and
      - corn feed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 PM.

Sept. - Dictionaries for 3rd graders in every school in Rainier School District public & private.
        Lions Sight & Hearing van screening for all elementary students in Rainier Schools.
      ( Rainier Lions is planning to expand this project to all Day Cares in Rainier in 2016)
       - Healthy Snacks for students in all classes of Rainier School District for school year.

Oct. - Apple sales to support Camp Leo for kids with type II diabetes in WA held every summer.
       Support Halloween in the Park if requested by the group running it.

Nov.-Donations to Food Bank, Food Baskets for families through American Legion & Rainier Auxiliary.

     Spouffske Christmas Tree sales and donations for needy families in Rainier w/o Christmas!
Dec. - Support / help the group(s) Caroling for Cans to collect food for food bank when requested.
Jan. Feb. Texas Ruby Red Grapefruit working with N. Thurston Kiwanis to support SERVICE projects.

Mar.- Lions MD-19 Spring conferences and training for all Lions in the multiple districts.

April - Youth essay contest for elementary and high school students.

May _ Dinner for the TOP FIVE Seniors in Rainier High School
   
    - REF Auction and scholarships ( in 2016 Rainier Lions awarded scholarships to 3 seniors.

June - New member inductions / club officer nominations / elections / installations.

 The Lions year ends June 30, 2017.   The next Lions Club International year begins July 1, 2017
