Rainier Lions Club Christmas Dinner Thank You

Thank you to everyone for attending and celebrating with us.

We had a wonderful turnout at our Rainier Lions Club Christmas Dinner.  Lions Club members as well as business leaders in our local community attended.  Laura & Joe - from Ginger Street; Dan and his wife - from the Rainier Hardware store; the mayor of Rainier, Randy, and his wife Kathy - all joined us for dinner.  Dallas & his wife, Chris Fanton, Jacque Carey, Billy Pettit, Jim Labelle & his wife, Bill & Chris Miller, George & Linda Johnson, Chris & Bernice Beck, Art & Charlotte Runyan, Dave Wuller (new Bluegrass facilitator ,Linda Lazelle, Evan & Lucy Burnett, Brenda Flaherty and her 3 children (Keith, Carol & Danielle) and grandson (Aden).  All in all - we had a full house!

We started our meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance  sang "America" and KL George Johnson made a small speech and prayer.  We ate, drew tickets for the free raffle and sang Christmas Carols.  This sounds like it took all of 5 minutes - but we started at 6:30 and were not done until after 8:30 PM.

The Free raffle was a hit!  I won one of the first items.  Since I wrapped the presents - I gave my winning ticket to Chris Fanton, who promptly won another item with his ticket.  Bernice Beck won a present.  Her husband gave her his winning ticket, too.  She won the main prize, too.  Several other people won prizes.  (I believe there were 10 prizes in all.)  Dave Wuller won the boobie prize - a whoopee cushion.  He's always wanted one.  Charlotte Runyan won a Magic 8 Ball.  Some prizes were puzzles, dominoes & other fun games.

George and I started shopping for this dinner weeks ago.  We started cooking Friday at 1:00 PM at home and finished up just in time to serve dinner at 6:30 PM.  It was a long day for me.  A special thank you goes out to Linda Lazelle and Brenda Flaherty who helped us in the kitchen.  We couldn't have done it without their help. They were awesome!
