Faculty Development Institute

In impressive title, no? Faculty Development Institute, FDI, is a group of facilitators that are ready to present for discussion issues that today’s clubs must face and resolve. We have over 20 presentations on issues regarding membership (both recruiting and retaining), expanding your community service, conducting better meetings, advancing to Zone Chairmanship, and others. These are 20 to 30 minute presentations designed to be presented at a regular club meeting. In District C alone we have some 25 facilitators that would like to visit your club.

FDI was created by Lions Clubs International as a tool to teach facilitators in the fine arts of public speaking, classroom strategies, course development and adult learning characteristics. This is a five-day course that LCI conducts every year. PZC Ron Smircich took the ideas from this course and distilled them down to an intense one-day course. FDI is now a Multiple District 19 committee. The program has expanded to seven of our nine districts and the number of facilitators continues to grow.

And we’re ready to visit your club. Contact me or your Zone Chair to get a list of topics and facilitators available.
