Road clean up day was Saturday February 16, 2013 . The Cub Scouts and the Lions
joined forces to clean up Rainier . This was the first of four road clean up
days that are scheduled by the Rainier Lions for 2013.
Thanks to Cub Scout Pack 307 a much wider area was cleaned than usual
,George Johnson president of the Rainier Lions said,”that we always invite the
public to join in”. We all live in Rainier and should want our roads to look as
neat as possible. What a great surprise when our Cub Scouts showed up with
members from the Tigers, Wolf, Bear and Webelos dens. Parents and scouts alike
were up for the task. The Rainier Lions worked highway 507 and the Cub Scouts cleaned
Wilkowski park and the Yelm Tenino trail. Over 30 bags of trash were picked up
in a little over 2 hrs.
The Lions want to thank the Rainier Cub Scouts pack 307 and their parents
for there dedication to community service in the city we live in. “It’s great
to have a Cub Scout pack back in Rainier “Johnson said. “It’s a great
organization and a great addition to Rainier's youth activities”.
If you want information on the Rainier Lions Club activities, or future Highway 507 road clean-ups like last Saturday, please feel free to call George. We're hoping you enjoyed this little story. There are also pictures below.
