Story of the Week: Lions Clubs International Videos Snag Industry Awards
July 23, 2012
Sharing the work of our amazing clubs is a wonderful challenge we tackle year round. Through our video magazine, LQ – Lions Quarterly, we share the successes of Lions and Leo clubs. Additionally, Lions Clubs International produces an array of videos for clubs to use in recruitment, public awareness and membership efforts. This year, several LCI videos received top honors at the 33rd Annual Telly Awards, which receives more than 13,000 entries annually from ad agencies, production companies, TV stations, cable operators and corporations.
A Lions young adult recruitment video, titled “Become Involved, Become a Lion,” received the highest honor, a Silver Telly award, which is bestowed upon less than 10 percent of all entries.
The Peace Poster Contest video, “Vision of Peace,” also received a People’s Choice Bronze Telly. Historically, this award represents the top 18 to 25 percent of entries.
The Peace Poster video, along with the LCIF Disaster Comprehensive, Joplin Disaster Relief and the January 2012 LQ videos all received Bronze Telly Awards as well.
Congratulations to the many people who make these videos possible, including the clubs and members around the world who embody our We Serve motto through unique projects that improve their communities.
