Lions Club International at USA / Canada Leadership Forum

Dear Lion,

Are you attending the USA-Canada Forum - September 13-15, 2012 in Tampa, Florida? Lions Clubs International Extension & Membership, Leadership, Service Activities, Information Technology, Legal, Convention, and the Lions Clubs International Foundation staff will be there and we invite you participate in our seminars and visit with us at our booths.

Extension and Membership
Come visit the LCI booth where we will have information on how we can help you form new clubs, help existing clubs with service and membership through the Club Excellence Process, and can answer your questions about the Global Membership Team (GMT).

Leadership
To win the Indianapolis 500 requires great drivers, top-notch equipment, effective leadership and a pit crew that is as finely tuned as the car it services. Explore the essential elements of effective teamwork and how we can incorporate it in our Lions teams to achieve excellence by attending the Turbo Charge Your TEAMWORK seminar (Saturday, 8:00am). In addition, we invite you to experience an interactive webinar, LIVE from Tampa to Toronto to Taipei (Friday, 8:00am) where you will see how an interactive webinar works while exploring the topic of Driving to Excellence with Lions around the world. Leadership Division staff will be on hand to answer your training and development questions and hear your leadership development ideas.

Membership & Leadership
The Global Membership Team (GMT) concentrates on membership and club growth, and on club success. The Global Leadership Team (GLT) directs its efforts toward identifying and cultivating effective leaders through active training and leadership development initiatives.Together, the GMT and GLT are well-positioned to support local Action to Build Clubs. Learn more by joining us for the ABCs of the GMT/GLT Implementation seminar (Thursday, 2:00pm).

Service Activities
Come visit the Reading Action Program booth to learn about LCI's campaign to increase worldwide literacy and how your club and district can get involved. We will have a variety of materials on hand to help you get started, including a planning guide and project ideas. You will also be able meet representatives from key partner organizations, including Reading Is Fundamental, Reach Out and Read, and Scholastic, who will provide information on how you can help reach underserved children in your community.

Information Technology
A representative from the Information Technology division will be at the LCI booth and will be able to assist you with questions related to MyLCI, and using the web to register your password, view your statements, enter your membership information and enter your service activities.

Important information on legal issues affecting clubs and districts including the Use of Funds Policy and Guidelines, District and Multiple District Constitution and By-Laws, Global Insurance Program, Supplemental Insurance, Lions Clubs International trademarks, and liability issues will be available at our booth.  A representative from CT Corporation will also be available to assist Lions with inquiries regarding club incorporation and foundation formation.  In addition, make sure to attend the Legal Division's informative seminars "Tax Issues & Regulations Affecting Lions Clubs & Lion Leaders," which be offered on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 8:00 - 9:20 a.m.; and "Club Constitutions - Keeping Up with the Times," which will be offered on Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 8:00 - 9:20 a.m.
