We discussed:

Blue Grass:  Menu items; preselling wooden coins for $5.00 each for a meal at Bluegrass; design and price of 20th anniversary coffee mugs ($10.00) - which all RLC members will able to presell; strawberry shortcake.

Road Clean-up:  Road clean-up will be next Saturday April 21, 2012 at 9:00 AM.  RLC will meet at the Rainier Chapel.  The board has pinchers to pick up the debris.

Scholorship:  The criteria for the scholorship was discussed and rules were read.  The RLC board has decided upon the amount and winner(s) of the scholorship, which will be announced at the next membership meeting on April 23, 2012 at the Rainier Chapel.

The Rainier Lions Club has been asked to host the next Zone meeting.  It is tenatively scheduled for May 10, 2012 at the Rainier Chapel.  RLC have to confirm with Bill Miller and the Rainier Chapel.  The Chineese Wok has agreed to prepare the food for our meeting.  The cost will be $12.00 and there will be aproximately 50 guests.

The results of the Kite Flying - Family Fun Day:  We used 46 of the 48 hot dogs.  We had 20 children attend with their parents & grandparents.  This was a record breaking year for our kite building and flying event.  Everyone had a good time.  Linda Lazelle and Linda Johnson took pictures, as well as some of the guests.  I will post my pictures in another posting.

White Cane Days are coming up.   There will be 2 - 3 hour shifts each day over that weekend from 10 AM - 4 PM.  Bernice Beck will bring the sign-up sheet to the next meeting.

RLC official Lions shirts will be ready for pick-up this coming Thursday.  We will need to pay Evan for the shirts we ordered at the next meeting.  We will have them just in time for the Zone meeting and White Cane Days!!!

YEARLY MEMBERSHIP DUES:  Please pay your $60.00 dues.  Checks can be brought to the next membership meeting, or checks can be mailed to:
Rainier Lions Club,  PO BOX 1033, Rainier, WA 98576.

RLC Board members voted to donated $200.00 to the group that made a presentation by Hooved Animal Rescue of Thurston County.

RLC Board members voted to pay the Rainier Chapel $600.00 for use of the building through June of 2012.  We will then pay for the last half of the year in July.

Thank you all RLC members for attending the Board Meeting on April 16, 2012.

  1. Correction: King Lion, Evan Burnett said the recipient of the Becky Waldron Scholorship will be announced by Bev Jolley and Linda Lazelle to the students.
