Spring Conference

Linda Lazelle and I went to the Lions MD-19 Spring Conference on Friday, April 13, 2012 for training as incoming Treasurer & Secretary.  The training I attended was very informative.  I will print up the MD-19 manual, as it has many useful tools in it.  We both received CD training disks, which will help us serve our club and Lion community.

Later that evening, George came and we visited the information booths in the LaQuinta Conference entry way.  We stayed for dinner and the beginning of the fun activities.  All Zone Chairmen made short speaches about their clubs.  One memorable speach was made like a Dr. Seuss rhyme.  It was delightful.  Our Zone Chairman, Bill Miller's speach was my favorite, as he said that 150 activities were done by clubs collectively. Considering many of our clubs are small, that's remarkable.

Bernice & Chris Beck joined us, as we watched the crowing of the King Lion and Lioness.  We left when the dancing started, as we had an early day planned on Saturday.  Bernice and Chris stayed for the dancing and returned the next day for more activities.  I hope they will share what they learned at our next membership meeting.

I encourage everyone in the Rainier Lions Club to attend our conferences.  The actual cost of the conference is minimal.  There is so much to learn and do at the conference, that the experience is worth much more then the cost.  I don't know how they do it!

The "Splish Splash Skit" was worth the drive to Tacoma!  Traffic and all!  Thank you Splish Splashers!
