George and I attended a "Membership Retention" meeting and Nick & Sugar Murphy's house last Tuesday night. We discussed the importance of social media like Facebook, blogs, websites and joining our local Chamber of Commerce. Without an active presence, people won't know about Lions Clubs and everything our members do.
This isn't "just a volunteer" organization, it's an active group comprised of passionate, caring citizens. Every time there is an activity or fundraiser, our individual members decide the success or failure by their contributions - of time, work & effort. You - the members - are what makes the difference.
The Lions Clubs have been a successful organization for almost a century. Collectively, Lions have had a dynamic & positive impact all over the whole world. This change has only been possible because of people like you. YOU!! You are important, so roll up your sleeves! Every thing you do, or don't do impacts our group and society, so "be the change you want to see in the world."
Our Lions community needs engaged citizens committed to making a positive difference in our area. We need an army of members and friends. Will you help? Find your niche? Will you commit to it? Will you help me spread the word? If so, we can send a powerful message to our communities: WE SERVE!

In our cities: WE SERVE!
For the sight impaired: WE SERVE!
For the hearing impaired: WE SERVE!
For the elderly: WE SERVE!
For the poor: WE SERVE!
I’m asking for your help and support. Because no one on earth has the optimism of an Lion Club member; and no one works harder. And no one believes in themselves more than Lions, and no one is more determined. And one thing I know and believe with all my heart is no amount of money or power on earth can measure up to an army of independent Lions and our friends!
