Video of the Week: Vaccines and the Heroes of Honduras

 

“Vaccines are working in Honduras, and all around the world they are saving lives and are ensuring our kids will grow strong,” says the narrator in this video from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Gates Foundation has awarded $5 million to LCIF — the largest donation in Foundation history. This challenge grant will be used to match $1 for every $2 Lions raise to help eliminate measles.

Donations toward this effort now total $4,002,296. Help save the lives of millions of children through One Shot, One Life: Lions Measles Initiative.

Can you believe it? Nearly 21,000 children under five died every day in 2010.

That’s about 12,000 fewer a day than in 1990. But with a coordinated effort, we can end preventable child deaths. Please share!
