Story of the Week: Call Your U.S. Representative Now About the LCI Coin Act

by lionsclubsorg

During the past year, Lions around the country have tirelessly worked to create a collectible coin to celebrate our organization’s 100th birthday in 2017. Together, we are close to making the Lions Clubs International Century of Service Commemorative Coin Act a reality.

We’re just a few weeks away from the House of Representative’s vote on this bill. Because all commemorative coins created by the U.S. Mint require an act of Congress, your support is vital to this bill’s success. The bill requires 290 Representative co-sponsors. To find out if your U.S. Representative supports H.R. 2139, check our map. States shaded blue have 100 percent support for the bill.

If your legislator does not support the bill, please contact your representative today. Without any cost to taxpayers, the sale of the coin would provide the Lions Clubs International Foundation with US$8 million. These funds will help LCIF further its programs for the visually impaired, disabled, youth and those affected by a major disaster. Find out how you can help by visiting our action center
