It
is apple sale time again. Welcome to our new and returning Apple Chairs. The forms that we use have been updated and
attached to this e-mail. Please
distribute copies of the forms to your members.
Packing dates are set by the ripening fruit. Our grower is tentatively looking at the
second and third weekends in October.
To
make sure there are apples available when you come, when we get closer and have
a better handle on packing dates, I will ask you to indicate the best dates for
your club and make every attempt to honor those requests, first come first
served. Please make sure your Lions
don't make delivery promises that be can't be kept in case you need to come on
the second or maybe third packing day.
The helping hands that come and box
apples are much appreciated. The project
is to get all the apples boxed and we need your help with more than just your
club's sales because we have individuals and groups that sell more than they can
be expected to pack. Last year things
went quickly because of your willingness to chip in. Finally, hook those high school and middle
school students as well as young adults to come and help pack. They have the
energy and the flexible backs we need.
On
my list as you are still the Apple Chair for your club. If you are now passing
this fun event on to another club member, please send me the name, e-mail
address and phone # of your new Apple Chair.
