Lions Commemorative Coin Bill Killed

Original Article

Several months ago you probably heard about the Lions International initiative to have a commermorative coin printed to honor the Lions organization. A bill in Congress was drafted and had sufficient support to get it passed. However at the last moment Barney Frank attached an amendment to the bill to also develop another coin that he wanted to piggy back the Lions without going through any efforts to get support for his coin. The Lions coin bill was killed. Supporters in Congress hope to bring it back after the summer break and get Barney Frank to drop his amendment.

Please contact Congressman Frank and ask him to drop his coin amendment.
