Welcome to November! Sorry to be cliche
but it is a great time to remember to think of what you're grateful for.
Sometimes it's the little things. The other day, the top row of my keyboard
wasn't working and I couldn't spell words with letters using "e" or "i". I never
thought about those letters before I couldn't use them. What are some things
you're grateful for?
Thanksgiving is also a reminder of
eating dinner with family and friends. In the Health Promotion world, this is
called a protective factor for youth - something that helps insulate a child
from making potentially unhealthy decisions. When you're doing something as
simple as cooking dinner together, you could be talking about what's going on at
school or future plans. What a great opportunity to process information and
generate new ideas.
I hope you have a Happy
Thanksgiving!
Please join us before then of course,
for our RCC meeting. Because I am also grateful for all of you who are engaged
with RCC and with your community!
Now that we have a tentative plan, it's
time to start making some more great things happen in the
community!
