Board Meeting Dinner Discussion.

Tonight we had a board meeting at the Rainier Chapel.  Our meeting started promptly at 6:00 PM.  Attending were:  Linda & George Johnson,  Art Runyan, Bernice Beck, Linda Lazelle, Evan Burnett and
Bud & Damion Green.

Linda Lazelle suggested not serving dinner because she's cooked twice and very few people ate what she served.  She's decided to eat dinner at home with her husband prior to coming to our meetings.  We briefly discussed whether or not to serve dinner at our regular meetings. Evan Burnett would like to have fellowship over dessert only.

Bernice recommended that we table this discussion and take up this discussion at the next regular meeting next Monday evening at 6:30 PM.  All the attending members agreed with this decision.

Please attend next Monday night, September 23, if you want to voice your opinion on dinner. George & I will serve dinner.  (Cost is $5.00 per person - children eat free.)

Some ideas are:

Dinner & Dessert $5.00

Dessert Only $2.50

Potluck $2.50

Catered Meal $10.00

Meeting Only

Our personal concerns are for our members.  We have people who eat alone at night.  Coming to a meeting and enjoying a meal with us may be the only home cooked meal they get with companionship during the week.  We also have young families where the parents work.  It may be difficult for them to rush home from work and prepare a nutritious meal and feed it to their family before coming to our meeting.

We serve.  When you vote, please consider the needs and feelings of the all of the members of our Lions community.

My preference is to serve supper prior to our meeting.  I hope "WE" continue to "SERVE" and break bread together.

Linda Johnson

CORRECTION:  Julia Green will be cooking dinner for our Monday night meeting.

UPDATE:  No, I'm cooking...Linda J.

  1. Correction: George said Julia and Bud Green may be cooking dinner. We'll confirm who's cooking dinner & what will be served and post that here. Linda J.
