Hwy 507 Road Clean-up

Michael Oravits & Evan Burnett are picking up trash, with the Rainier Lions Club, along Hyw. 507.  Together almost 20 bags of trash were picked up.

It's looking good!

You may recognize Michael from Pupper's Pets.  He & Phyllis help out various Lions Clubs during the year with their project.

Evan Burnett is the President of the Rainier Lions Club this year.  He's wearing his "President" jacket while he works.

Rainier Round-Up Days Parade Videos

For a real, good "hometown" feel, come to Rainier.  We're a small community.  Our downtown area is small, but we have the best homemade cookies in the state - freshly baked at "Main Street Cookies" right in downtown Rainier!  Across the street - you can shop at "Ginger Street" for great gifts and collectibles.

Almost 50 groups participated in the Rainier Round-Up Days Parade.  The parade goes along Highway 507 for about 1/2 a mile.  It's perfect!  Almost everyone in town is either in the parade, or they're watching the parade from the sidewalks.

For an honest mechanic, check out Turner Automotive - in the gray building in the parade videos.  You'll be pleasantly surprised!

You can see our downtown area in Wally Brown's parade videos below:

Rainier Main Street 507 and Parks Meeting

Greetings folks,

The next meeting of the Main Street 507 and Rainier Parks projects will occur March 18, 2014 (7:00 P.M.) at Rainier City Hall.

The meeting will discuss findings from the community meeting, and present a draft version of the parks plan. Additional discussion items will include: how parking should be addressed in downtown, and some of the important characteristics to ensure in new development (i.e. whether the City should consider building design and landscaping standards).

For those of you particularly interested in Binghampton Street (SR 507), the meeting will not delve into the road or intersections along the highway. The meeting in May will likely consider those issues, after the technical group analyzing the roadway has completed its work.

If you have questions about the March meeting, the project or anything else, please let me know.

Hope to see you March 18th.

Fred
