Scouting for Food 2014

The Rainier Lions Club is the Charter Organization for our Cub & Boy Scout Troops in Rainier. Today we received the following information from the Pacific Harbor Council of Scouts about this year's food drive. I know our food bank in Rainier has shortages, now, because we are serving so many people in need.  Please consider donating food - or dropping off non-perishable foods to your local food bank and let them know to credit the Cub & Boy Scouts in your area.  Thank you!

SCOUTING FOR FOOD March 22, 2014

Scouting for Food is just around the corner!

Look here for details about this year's event...

This year, the Pacific Harbors Council is teaming up with three local Walmart Stores and the Fish Food Bank to make this a successful event!

Please pick up your Scouting for Food Bags at your local Roundtable Meeting on Thursday, March 13, 2014.  You may also pick them up at one of Council Offices.

On Saturday, March 22, 2014, the Walmart Stores in Spanaway, Tacoma, and Lakewood will act as drop off locations anytime between 9:00am and 4:00pm.  Volunteers are needed at each location on that day to help unload the food items.  If you would like to help at one of the Walmart locations, please contact your District Executive.

If you do not live in the area of one of the Walmart Stores, you may still drop off your food at your local food bank.  Please make sure to record the weight of the items!

If you have any questions about Scouting for Food, please contact Marcus Pitts at (253) 682-2203.
